WHAT WE DO
We are interested in the conservation and sustainable use of tropical aquatic biodiversity, particularly focusing on freshwater fishes and riverine ecosystems. Research comprises of both field and laboratory components, and focuses on species discoveries, molecular phylogenetics, biogeography, extinction risk, conservation prioritisation and inland fisheries management.
WHO WE ARE
We are a group of aquatic biologists based at the Kerala University of Fisheries & Ocean Studies, Kochi, India. With affiliations to both the Department of Fisheries Resource Management, and the School of Ocean Science & Technology, activities at our lab is led by Dr. Rajeev Raghavan, Assistant Professor, and the South Asia Coordinator of IUCN SSC Freshwater Fish Specialist Group.
